Better motor for a speed boat? 1976 Johnson 115 V4 or 1983 Mariner 115 I6

I have both of these motors and they both run good, have PTT, and have given me no problems. I'm going to put one of them on my Tahiti 16' and want to squeeze out every mph. I know it's kind of a "pie in the sky" question, but assuming I have the exact right prop for each, which one is likely to give me more mph?

Since the Johnson wasn't on the back of one of my boats, I thought I'd try it first. After some tinkering, I hit 54mph with a fishing boat prop! Haven't even got the Power trim going yet. Guess I'll be leaving the Mariner on my Larson.
 
Had a 115 Evinrude on a boat.----Did 54 MPH.-----Put an inline 6 Mercury 150 on it for 57 MPH.----Took the Mercury off again.
