Bell Housing dilemma thread that I can't read numbers in posting.

Hi. I have a 8235978 bell housing that has gone way bad and I'm looking for any info on what the part might have been change. Any help out there. Thanks Bill

Bill, Your p/n includes one extra digit. The number should be 835978 if this is for the Volvo Penta AQ series SBC or BBC GM V-8.

BTW, this is actually called a "Flywheel Cover" in the marine world........... but are called Bell Housings in cars/trucks.
However, you are not alone when it comes to using that term......, so include "Flywheel Cover" and "Bell Housing" in your search criteria.
This part is still available. I have these if you cannot find one.

Here is one that should look similar! These were available in both fine and course female yoke splines.
As a matter of fact, the PDSs are same fit/same bearings/same seals.
This is a double bearing F/C.... no crankshaft bushing required.

Here is the later style that will also work, but is a single bearing, and requires a pilot nose crankshaft bushing. These are fine spline ONLY!
