I put a new battery on the boa

I put a new battery on the boat about a month ago the other day I noticed the volt meter was registering 14V I don't remember it going that high before is this a problem? '75 70hp Evinrude.

No problem It has to get to something like 14 volts in order to charge the battery properly.
Probably the old battery was well past its best if you never saw 14 volts.
That engine only has a simple non regulated rectifier AFAIK so dont be surprised to see the volts go even higher.
