"Just had carbs cleaned with new jets, seats, etc...and worked fine for a couple of hours then began to surge/pulse at higher rpms. I would then put it in neutral and rev it up a bit and it would run fine for about 25 seconds at high rpms. Plugs all look normal.
Any insights ???"

"changed to a new tank with fresh gas and still does it. Drained carbs to make sure no water in it. Also seems the oil level has risen again, after replacing thermostat and the fuel pump. Any other way for fuel to get in the crankcase oil?"

A headgasket could cause fuel

A headgasket could cause fuel in the oil AND the surging ? BTW thanks for your input ! No water in the oil ...

Local boat shop . How could

Local boat shop . How could this cause the symptoms that I have ? I actually think that they just reset everything the way it was...supposedly.

I asked them if they used a carb sync and they said they didn't need to. Maybe you can explain to me why they needed to so I can tell them ....

Were you thinking I was getting water in the crankcase oil ?

Thanks
