AQ225e Oil Filter Removal

"Newbie here, Going for my first oil change. I see the filter is shown at the rear of the motor, any tips or tricks to getting access to it to swap it out? There is almost no room around the engine.

Boat is a 21' 1986 Bayliner with a Volvo Penta 5.0 (AQ225-E)

"If you have enough space to reach the filter by sticking your arm between the port exhaust manifold and the boat deck (or between the manifold and the bellhousing), try removing it with the help of a filter wrench.

To avoid messing the bilges, you may want to put a pan under the filter, or once you loosen it put a small plastic bag around it."

"Bring your engine up to operating temperature first. While that may sound like a bad idea as for working around the engine, it will make removing the filter and removing oil much faster and easier.

Yes, the plastic bag should work.
