AQ125A fuel pump problem (maybe)

Slowly working through getting a new to me '83 bayliner seaworthy. New problem seemed to crop up today while running on the muffs. The engine would start fine and run for 10-15 seconds before dying. Thought it was fuel starvation but while troubleshooting we saw that a large amount of fuel was being pumped to the carb via the rubber hose that hooks up to the spark arrestor base plate. In any case this doesn't seem right so I hoping someone knows a simple fix. Or should I just plan on picking up a new fuel pump.

Thanks in advance.

Ayuh,.... Replace the fuel pump,...

It sounds like the diaphragm is ruptured...
