is it possable to install a la

is it possable to install a larger motor to this outdrive (270) than the 125a if so will it improve performance or everything be the same except for time it takes to reach max speed. also will any other type of motor bolt up to this outdrive or does it have to be a volvo?

How big is your boat? If your boat is somewhere in the 17'-19' range I wouldn't go to all the expense and time to install a larger motor if your present motor is in good condition. Unless you could find a 2.3 liter (AQ 131A) with low hours perhaps.
If your present motor is a good runner, you can try different prop sizes or add the Weber Carb kit and Pertronix, etc. for some increased performance. Just some ideas to consider."
 
i have a bayliner bowrider jus

i have a bayliner bowrider just wanting to make a good boat for cruising and actually a high performance boat more of a toy than anything jsut asking i think the prop may be little much for the boat anyway any recomendations on prop size the boat is a 1983 bowrider i think about 18 ft
