aq125 volvo cylinder head swap from 160 to 530. now i can't get it started.

It worked but had to turn distr pulley like an eight a revolution. Why would it be so off to get the rotor on mark? Is distrib worn out. I never removed it. Should I to check internal alignment marks or run it I have room to adjust timing now. Thanks agaiiiiiin. Water is callin
