"Having a bit of a fuel problem. Here's what I've done so far.
New plugs, new carb kit, all new o-rings, gaskets, and new diaphragm for the accelerator pump. The gas has been sitting for about a year, so I topped off with 16 gallons of 93 octane, plus a bottle of octane boost. I have verified fuel flow from the tank, to the pump, from the pump up into the carb, but from there, it seems like nothing is happening. I cannot see a jet of fuel going in when operating the throttle, or when manually operating the accelerator pump. It will run off of starting fluid, until it burns off. As of last night, if I dump a cap full of fuel into the carb, it will crank up and run as long as I am hammering on the throttle, back and forth, really fast, but it is running like crap. The only thing left is maybe not enough pressure from the fuel pump?? I know the pump is working, but is there supposed to be a certain amount of pressure that it pushes? Or could it just be that the gas is to bad?
I hope I've included enough info to get some assistance on this. Oh, it's an 86 Bayliner Capri with a 2.3L and Solex one bbl carb."
