Seems to be the day for 40hp?!!
My dilemma is a little different than the previous post. My 1990 motor does a couple a wierd things: a) will occasionally act like it is missing 2 cylinders; b) above 1/2 throttle, the motor makes very strange noises and lacks power---if it was a car, I'd say it was pinging; c) at idle, it will stop abruptly, like a cylinder was firing at the wrong time.
I thought this all sounded like a bad trigger, so I replaced that. While I was under there I checked all the magnets and all were tight. Really thought the triggler was going to fix my problems becasue I beleive they are ignition and timing related.
Any suggestions on what this could be?. Is it simply the CDI Box?? Any advice would be appreciated
