Alignment

1998 Silverton inboard.7.4 liter Crusaders.Starboard engine needs to be moved toward*portside. It is as far as it will go on the mounting trunions and looks like it has been like this from the factory. The L shaped brackets bolted to the stringers which have the engine mounts bolted to them are slotted and have room for the engine mounts to slide.
Would this hurt the mounts being slid sideways?
Anyone ever done it this way? Whats the best way type of leverage to use to slide the engine?
Thanks

ideally, you want a boom to lift it a bit....usually easier said than done.
The engine needs to be moved to align the couplings...this assumes the shaft, strut, etc were installed correctly and that part remains true - not always a good assumption.
What could have been from the factory, sadly, is not always optimal, especially when it comes to adjustments.

I use this kit. The "duckbill" works great for side to side movement. Has a small ram for underneath
( I always use a slab of wood so we don't stress the glass on the bottom)
The kits cost about $100.00 or check your local "Rent-All"
