just bought 1989 mercury 150. mechanic owner changed water pump and cleaned fuel tank as well as cleaned carberator. ran good; put in lake and would not start. Changed fuel filters. and spark plugs. no luck . took to mercury mechanic he rebuilt fuel pump. picked up boat and put in water . started got on top. had to idle down and boat died. Wont start. noted fuel film on water and air seen in fuel filter between fuel pump and carb. any ideas whats next. could it be some type of leak in the hose. There is no icon for pulling your hair out so i wont post one
