Air coming out of carbs when primed.

Older 40 hp Mercury Mariner 2 stroke 4 cylinder - The engine ran the other day but now no fuel is getting to the carbs. When I prime the bulb I can hear air coming out of the carbs. What is the culprit?

The bulb is pumping air.----So check your fuel line.----Most important is to check pickup tube INSIDE fuel tank
