A Quicksilver rebuild on 150 Optimax

Guys,
I am going to try a 150 Optimax out and it has a Quicksilver remanufacturing nameplate on it (see photo). I don't know anything about these folks other than what I see on their site. I don't see any phone number that I can call them and get any info on the rebuild. I started down this path looking for the Mercury SN when I discovered this and haven't found any original nameplate info as of yet. The SN on the Quicksilver plate is QSGG-06090S0. Someone just told me that Quicksilver and Mercury was the same thing.... Anyone have any wisdom on this? I'm trying to learn more about the specifics on the engine.

Sure looks like a factory rebuild to me.------Not sure if I want a high tech motor like that myself.

Air compressor , sensors , computer etc.-----Do they still build them , support them ?

Know of a fellow who had a 2008 model 115 HP opti.-----Said " I can not find a shop that is enthusiastic about working on it and rebuilding it "----Had a cylinder with low compression .-----No thanks on this type of technology for me.----Not in my budget at all

ok, do I have to call Mercury to get any info on the engine, based on SN, or is there a site I can go to?

Call MERCURY or a few dealers to gauge the response on this technology.

I love Optimax....I own a 225 Opti.....Great engine. Love working on them too.
