96 Mercruser trim is stuck

if boat is used in salt water

if boat is used in salt water check hydraulic cylinders for salt build-up behind seals. if retaining ring is loose on shaft reseal caps. caps may need replaced due to corrosion. salt build-up causes binding that hydraulics cannot overcome through trim down circuit due to valving for "kick-up".

"Tim, I would open the hydraulic lines at the cylinders and then run the pump. It will bleed the lines a bit. Check to see that the motor is not stuck in the up position. Unbolt the cylinders and see if the motor moves."
