I have the repair manual & have researched the part I need for the power trim cylinder - 1 cylinder has a torn seal - noted as the scraper seal in the OMC manual and some call it the wiper seal (not the oil seal). This seal cracked and is 1/2 out already from wear & tear - no leakage in this unit and everything is functioning. Has anyone replaced this scraper/wiper seal on the top cap of the trim cylinder without removing the top cap. - I looked at the cap out of the unit in the manual and they seam to just pry it out & tap one in from the top. - Naturally being a 20 year old unit if I can avoid removing the top cap to change I would - so bottom line is it necessary to pull the top cap to change the scraper/wiper seal - any help would be appreciated - Thanks
