93 evenrude 15 hp Changing foot lube

An easy job where mistakes are made.----If you are attempting to add oil at the top fitting then that does not work.--------Oil is filled through the lower fitting till it comes out the top fitting.----Then install top fitting.---Then remove filling device and quickly install bottom fitting.---Motor to be in the normal running position.
 
Thats what i am trying. When I drained I got some sludge, and now it won't except new oil from bottom. How much oil should it take. I drained about a pint.

When I drained got some sludge first. Could the filler be plugged?
 
A shop would use a pressurized container.-------You could use a squeeze tube or buy a small hand pump at a dealer to put the oil in.-----You must make sure that it is done the right way , as gears are expensive !
