90s model 30hp Johnson 2 stroke outboard motor slipping into neutral when accelerating

Need help trying to fix my lever situation as it slips into neutral while trying to accelerate in forward motion. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hoping its just a quick adjustment or tightening.

Clutch dog in lower unit is worn out. Probably forward gear also.

Is the lower shift rod fully screwed into the gearcase ?-----Was work done on water pump recently ?
