I have a 2005 90hp Johnson, seemed to run fine but out of nowhere one piston seized. I had the cylinder bored and installed an oversized replacement, the engine starts right up and runs very well but I'm reluctant to run it much as I don't know what caused the problem in the first place. Out of the 4 heads, 3 had a golden color inside but the problem cylinder has a silver color,,, like it was running lean. I've looked over the carbs, there's no blockage or issues and everything seems to be running the same temp. I'm considering eliminating the VRO and just going with a fuel pump and pre-mix but it still doesn't answer the issue of the lean cylinder. I'm reaching out here to ask if anyone has had this kind of problem and could steer me towards a solution.
