I recently was using the trim

I recently was using the trim button on the gear shifter and i must have pushed to hard and it pushed through and now i can't use the upward trim. How might i go about tearing the shifter apart to fix it?Thanks

"John.... If you're using

"John.... If you're using the standard type control box that has the throttle/shift handle attached to it, remove the control box from the boat mounting. On the side of the box opposite the handle, you'll see a allen screw that retains the handle..... remove that allen screw.

Now, have the handle in the neutral position. Screw a long screw into the area that you just removed the allen screw from., then hit it with a hammer to free the handle.

The rest of the procedure to replace the switch will be obvious.
