Correct, the engine is not running.

I actually tested with just the plain ground wire last night as you recommend above and the meter read 4v.

From what you've stated... I'd replace the igniiton switch. There should be absolutely NO voltage being applied to that "M" (black/yellow wire)terminal.

I'll order one now and replace it when it comes in on Thursday then report back...thanks again Joe!

The new switch came in last week and everything tested out okay (no voltage on the "M" terminal). So I reconnected everything, fired her up (in a bucket) and everything worked great.

I'm thrilled to say I put her in the lake yesterday and everything went perfect!
