88 spl lower end gasket

1984 Rude 88 spl, changingout lower end. Is there suposed to be a gasket between the uper and lowed unit ???
ALSO....Is there a special way to remove the old prop ?? short cut ect..?

There is no gasket between the long exhaust housing and the gearcase. A sealer can be used if preferred.

There is a special tool for removing stuck propellers (caused by no grease on splines). The alternative is to do whatever it takes.
