Hello, I’ve got a 60 hp mercury that has recently been running rough, missing starting at 2000 up to about 3000 rpm. It will intermittently not idle well and die but other times it idles well. Above 4000 rpm it runs great. I have switched out a number of things and numerous readings. Recent changes: New stator by mechanic 3-4 years ago, new trigger(Sierra) by me 3 years ago. New switch box (cheap Chinese) 2 mo ago. New spark plug wires, cleaned but not rebuilt carbs. Testing as follows. Three leads from trigger all at .95 K ohms (Seloc manual says 1.1-1.4 K ohms) Two stator leads read 2.2 K ohm and 48 ohms (manual says 5.7K- 8.0 and 56-76 ohms respectively.Direct voltage from switch box to coils all around 205 v, don’t have any specs for that. Motor really doesn’t have that many hours on it, I am the 2nd owner and I used the trolling motor in lake where no outboards allowed. Compression on all cylinders right at 130. The rough running is accompanied by intermittent missing spark when monitoring with timing light on all three cylinders.
Is this stator bad? All three leads from trigger low but very consistent. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just replaced the switch box around two mo ago. I was initially wondering if it was defective because it was so cheap. Do you know if resistance increases or decreases on a failing stator? Thanks
