86 30 HP evinrude screw next to drain plug

Got this engine used last year, went to change oil this year and noticed a philips head screw next to the drain plug,.. just curius as to what thats for. nothing important. haha. 86 30 HP J30ECDM

Not sure of the " haha " part in your post.------It is the pivot pin for the shift fork.------Do not remove it !

Thanks, I meant, haha, not important to some of the real issues people have with the engines.
