Just about to buy a fibreglass halfcabin with a chrysler donk hanging off the back.

Any ideas where to download a manual, or a hint on the problem I have-

SHe has great compression, bu producing no spark whatsoever.

It turned out to be nothing more than a dud set of points.

Speaking of points, is there an electronic ignition that can be retrofitted? Any other common modifications?"
 
check into "magnatude igni

check into "magnatude ignition kit" west marine part #362097 if you have them where You are.

She starts now, apparently the points were out of adjust....now at high revs she misses....the outboard man thinks the points may be bouncing, or the coil failing...any ideas?

Oh yeah she blew the guts out of the starter motor, so we're searching now..."

sounds like u have a amp draw if u blew the starter

"I think, from what I can find it is a 1976. I havent tried for the electronic ignition as yet, as the full service has already cost $700, so a little saving might be in order.

A second hand dizzy (therefore another set of points) has been fitted, we are just waiting to gett it started to see if that is the problem.."

Second hand dizzy (therefore points) is fitted, but no cigar. We have also tried a s/h coil to no avail. Still misses at high revs.

Next is the ignition module and capacitor."
