Whats the differents between mgl40 e1 and mgl 4108 e4 outboard strter (1972 100 hp Johnson)

Dang if I know. Where did you find the mgl 40e1 number? The parts book shows three starters used interchangeably MGD 4007, MGD 4106, MGL 4108.

tried to show pic cant get it got 1 starter with 4108 with e1 below 4108 and another starter with 4108 e4 below the number 4108
