I am wondering where to start

I am wondering where to start I just bought a 18' foot Larson with a 35hp Johnson outboard got it on the water and it won't turn over at all. Had a new battery and fresh fuel mix of 8oz oil to 6 gal gas. the electric choke is working but the engine won't turn over at all. Any help on where to start looking would be great!! Thanks

"Dave.... You need to be a little more percise. You say that the engine won't turn over but that can be misleading. Are you saying that the engine cranks but won't fire (start), or are you saying that there is no electric starter solenoid click, the starter does not engage, and that the engine does not attempt to crank?

Also NOTE: 8oz of oil to 6 gallons of gas is 100/1 mixture which is not a good idea. That will result in a lean mixture. Use 1 pint (16oz) of 50/1 oil to six (6) gallons of gas which is what that engine requires.
