Hi, got whole waterpump replaced when rebuilt 89 70hp Johnson.
New pump was this kind:

There were also new thermostat cover, gasket and spring. They don't fit with old thermostat, so there's now old style thermostat.
Could someone tell me what kind of thermostat fits with that new cover and cone shaped spring? (don't know)
And what are advantages of new one? Should I replace it/them? Has it something to do with that new water pump? It looks very much like the old one, anyway.
