"I have a 383, and have received lots of help from this board, and I'm getting very close. My question is this, my temp gauge is reading ok and you can put your hand on the thermostat housing, and, the water coming out the exhaust is lukewarm, however, the intake manifold is getting way to hot too fast. Its like the cooling system is in bypass mode all the time and I'm never getting any cooling to my engine. Anybody have any idea where I might start looking. I've had the water pump checked out and its in good shape. Just put a 140 degree thermostat in, and had the heat exchanger flushed.

Thanks, Curtis"

Sounds Like you have a vapor lock in theintacke manafold. As the engine warms and with the radiator cap on bleed the vapor out of the highes point as pressuer builds with heating up. my boat would do that then need to have it redone each time it cooled down untill i put on an overflow catach tank from napa. works great now
