60 merc missfire on 2 cyl

when eng wormes up it missfires on no.2&3 cyl i have replacde switch box & trigger .i have swaped coils there is change in the way it runs.i need help

Is the spark a snapping blue spark or what? When you say misfire do you mean it back fires thru the carb or the engine runs rough? Have you worked on the carbs?

Do a compression test? Need to know the year/model/serial#??? Then check the fuel pump diaphram,just in case? Plugs burning all the same?

Sounds like a bad trigger coil OR the insulating caps on the wires at the switch box are not sealing properly. THere's 300 volts there and that will jump a 1/4 inch easy.

i found the hoses were comming appart .i replaced fuel lines & filter. cleaned out the carbs .now it runs great.thank you jerryjerry05
