60 hp Johnson

Engine will run great for 5-10 minutes then will bog down and stall out and won’t be able to get it restarted . It is a 1990 60 hp Johnson motor.

It's the small hose that pumps water out in a stream away from the motor that shows you that there is water circulating through the head, thus keeping it cool. If you don't see water coming out, then it may not be cooling. Sometimes you have to just poke something into the hole to clear it. But if you haven't replaced the impeller in 5 years or more, there's a good chance it's not cooling the engine.

On many motors the tell tale is an indicator that water pump is working.-----That water does NOT circulate through the block.-----Does not indicate that motor is cooling properly !!

When it shuts off, is the primer bulb still firm? If you pump the primer bulb up will it start back up again? I'm thinking maybe a bad fuel pump. Motor burns the gas out of the carb bowl and then shuts off.
