50 hp evinrude shift rod/linkage height specs...?

Rebuilding a 1984 50 hp evinrude (E50TLCRM) and I'm wondering if anyone knows the height the pin hole at the top of the rod is supposed to measure (be adjusted) from a given point on the lower unit?... And also what shift position (forward, neutral, or reverse) this spec is relative to?
