48hp 1980 evinrude

Need urgent help been looking for 2 weeks

Need a gear case seal for 1980 48hp

E48celcss which appently doesnt exist yet have it in fron of me just after a water pump and gear case numbers so i can order thanks in advance

Any pictures of the motor and model # plate ?-----The 48 was not marketed until 1987 I believe.----The 48 was a 50 HP marketed without oil injection or power trim.

I have an Evinrude 48 (1980) E48CELCSS too, great motor tho needed new gearcase seals...It´s a bit of a dark horse, appears only to have been made in 1980, and only in Australia and Canada. Very smooth running and economical, years ahead of it´s time.....anyway, it´s a de-rated 60hp from the same year, all the parts from the 60hp 1980 seem to fit,with the exception of the carby jets, and the carby part numbers have been ground off so....... Service manual for the 60 is your seems to be fine, tho do be carefull with the carbs....Suggest you do full gearcase seal kit while you're at it.
