"Ok-same problem as posted many times before. I have a 1986 4.3 that has mayonnaise in the the valve covers only. Never have found water in the the oil pan. Engine runs strong/great. Have done a pressure test with air on the cooling system and no pressure drop. Have had the heads off and checked-no cracks or probems. When cruising, I can see steam coming from the valve covers via hoses to the carb. My auto mechanic wants to try compression check cold then check warm to see if it might be the comprssion rings failing-letting alot of blow-by causing the moisture. He thinks might be the compression rings failing but oil ring ok not letting the blow-by into the crank cavity. What do you guys think???"

It sounds like your Mechanic is more concerned about Lowering your Checkbook Balance,...
Than actually Fixing your motor......."
