4.3 L Mercruiser starter

I'm having an issue with my mercruiser engine. I had to replace the starter and thought i put everything back the right way. I went to start the engine up and the starter never disengaged. I was looking at the manual and I believe that i should have wires going to 3 posts instead of 2 like i have right now. PLEASE HELP
 
The #1 main lug or center 2 red wires and 1 orange wire , the two smaller lugs #2 purple and yellow wire and #3 yellow and red wire on the other... somebody will post a diagram I'm sure.:cool:

top large lug: main battery cable, red system wire, orange wire
small lug closest to engine block: yellow/red wire
small lug away from engine block: purple/yellow
make sure the cable and wires on the top large post are not touching the small lug closest to the block.
