4.3 fuel pump not operation while cranking

I dont believe the 4.3 V6 ever came in TBI,

Only carbed then EFI....

There is a post with the correct pump shown, If he orders one from merc for his engine serial number it will be the correct one. If not he will soon find out...........

I couldn't get OEM in time. I have to move the boat to storage tomorrow night.

I bought a Mallory pump instead. It was part number mal9-35428 that cross referenced with 805656-1 which cross referenced with 861155a6. That happens to be the number that Mercruiser gave me. What could possibly go wrong:)

Actually, the part I was trying to order from the local marina would have been the wrong one.

Unless I missed it, you have not commented on the question as to whether this is TBI or Carbureted.
I realize that in your first post you mentioned carb.

According to Mallory re; MAL9-35428 pump

Not sure if this helps anyone but my v6 carbureted mercruiser had similar problem fuel pump not coming on to prime once started and running ran really rough fuel pump not switching off created over fueling petroleum straight into engine Replaced key switch with a sierra aftermarket one solved problem
