I have a 1995 30 hp 2 stroke that will start with the choke out but has a rpm rise with choke in for a few seconds then dies. I cleaned the carbs. Any suggestions on whatvto try next.
 
You using Ethanol in the gas?Profile??Location.Serial#s?
It's tough on hoses and pumps.Rebuild the pump and replace all hoses.
Do a compression/spark test.
 
I got it to run continueosly by slowly closing the choke a little. I will change to ethanol free gas . Based on the choke position I think the diapham on the fuel pump needs to be replaced. I have it on order and will post results after install. Question, what drives the diaphragm?
