3 honda bf8ah questions

Hello fellow boaters, can someone please answer these three questions for me : does the 90w gear gear oil have to be drained before you change out the impeller & can you walk me through the process of changing out the thermostat & do i need to replace the gasket for it ? Ihave gasket making silicon, if it is necessary. thanks

Oil can stay in,2 Pull bolts holding housing on,clean both surfaces,note direction of stat.,install new gasket, No silicone should ever be used in cooling system!
