I bought an 8 HP Yamaha 4 stroke. Looks pristine. From private sale, guy says he bought from dealer but had to sell his small boat before he could use it.
Runs great on land, dry, starts right up. But in water it sputters a lot and has a lot of steam from the outlet. Then dies out.
I got it back on land. Got new gas and it starts right up again. But I put on the flush line and I can’t even start it and a stream water is just flowing from the tell tale and the water outlet.
I disconnect the flush, pull the cord a couple time and A LOT of water spots from the outlet. I pull the cord a few more times and it fires right back up.
What the hell is going on?!? Any ideas?
