2015 merc 115 4 stroke losses 300 rpm at 5000 intermittently.

I have a 2015 115 mercury 4 stroke. When it reaches 5000 rpm it will intermittently bog down 300 rpm. Up to 5000 its smooth. I tried opening fuel cap and no change. Removed spark plugs and tested on machine. Ok. Next step was going to be fuel filter. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Pull injectors and have sent off for cleaning and balancing...nothing in a can will clean em

Does it have a fuel/ water separator filter ? If so pull and pour in a clean container, let set and look for water. Reason I'm asking, some on onboard tanks the anti- siphoning valve pick up tube doesn't go to about 2" from bottom. If u have 1,2,3 gallons of water in tank. At start up its picking up clean fuel, once moving , water starts mixing. And motor will act as if it's a fuel problem.

Anything that comes in to shop 2018 and older first thing we do is drain fuel tank and add fuel/water separator filter. Reason. U can chase the ethanol ghost a long time. Meaning motor will run great all day on hose, put it in lake and mix, BAM.
Easiest is portable tank to motor on lake test.

I don't have a fuel/water separator. I will install one. Plan is to drain fuel tank and start fresh.
