2014 Honda 15hp wont start and wont shift into reverse

I have a 2014 Honda 15hp, new to me worked find the first 4 times.
Put her in the water yesterday and she wouldn't start, like no nothing at all.
Also noticed it wont shift into reverse.
Any help greatly appreciated

Being that it's not shifting properly you may be locked out by the neutral switch.

Is this an electric start outboard? And, if so, are you saying it won't crank?

And why would you be trying to shift into reverse with the engine not running?

The engine shaft or prop MUST be turning when changing/selecting gears in order to allow the clutch to engage easily. Trying to force the transmission into gear when the engine is off can bend the shift rod (or worse) and should not be done.

I agree with Nasty Wendy that if it isn't cranking with the starter it may not be closing the neutral safety switch.

Give us a little more info to go on please.
