2013 - Suzuki DF40A - trims up while underway..?

Hi all,
We have a 2013 40hp Suzuki DF40A which has 250 hours on it - used as a tender. All of a sudden it has started trimming up while underway. If I depress the down button on the switch (at the throttle controls) while underway, it will hold the engine down but the minute I release it starts trimming up. It is under cover all winter but I took apart the throttle controls and found no corrosion in the switch or contacts. Also filled up the tilt pump with the Dexron III ATX fluid.

Wondering what the knowledge base here would suggest at the next step in troubleshooting this issue.

My first thought is there is a short in the up/down switch. If it is not a short in the up/down switch then it is a short in the wiring somewhere. Likely at the solenoid valves.
