" Okay, I am getting ready to look inside. I need to remove the crankcase taper pin. The service manual has a very detailed layout for a taper pin tool. My band saw will not cut 1/2" steel and it would need to be made at a machine shop. Is this really neccessary? I would like to just drive it up with a brass drift punch but the manual makes it sound like it is critical to use the proper tool. Would a aluminum tool work? Any ideas?

Thanks again.
