2007 mercury 2 stroke 2cyl elpto trim and tilt

Hi all I have the above engine as described above in the title it is tiller steer and the tilt and trim switch is on the bottom cowl problem is I cannot reach it while steering the boat as I like to have the engine tilted down get up on the plane then raise the trim for more top speed and better fuel economy, do I have to install another switch within reach and how would I go about doing that, any help advice would be much appreciated, thanks

You can install another switch anywhere. You need to tap into the harness for the tilt and trim switch. RED is power 12v positive. BLUE is up wire. GREEN is down wire .

I put a cheap $9 switch on my tiller handle. I just used silicone tape to hold it. I put in reach of my thumb while my hand is on the throttle. Works great and has for 5+ years now.
