2006 Mercury 9.9 4-stroke..No Spark

I am definitely not getting any fire at the spark plug. Can someone tell me how I can test the ignition coil,and powerpack(?) that the hot wire from the coil is connected to.Thanks again. I am 72 years old and hope that an old dog can learn.

Did you try the easy stuff first?
check the kill switch & also wires for a chaffed spot that might be grounding.
I had a ‘91 Evinrude 8hp, with no spark. Kill switch was bad.

Edchris177...no I have not, but will do. Is there a test I can do on the switch? Thank you for the suggestion !
