2005 Honda BF8 fuel line connector

I just purchased another Honda tiller motor for my Campion 622. I thought that I could use the same portable tank and hose connections from my 2000 9.9 Honda. The 2000 hose connects to the 8 horse, but leaks badly, especially when pumping the fuel line ball! I thought they would be interchangeable?? I guess I'll have to order a complete fuel hose with connections for a 2005! Any ideas where for the best price?

It looks like there a couple of different connectors for an '05 8hp depending on what the frame number is. See part 8 in the links below. You could make up your own by using bulk fuel hose and just buy the connector. If you can determine which one will fit your outboard that is.

One other thing that you might consider doing is to buy the connector "kit" for the 2000 9.9hp
and fit the engine side portion to your 8hp and simply use the same tank and hose for both. See item 20 in the link below. You will fit item 21 to your 8hp and you will then have a spare tank side connector. This might take some small amount of modification in order to securely mount the connector to the oil case.

Of course, this is if the parts for your 9.9hp match the ones in the link and no one has done any modifications already.
