I have a well maintained 05 90 2 stroke that has started to act really odd.
I can leave it stored for several months and the following happens:
1) On the trailer starts right up cold and idles perfectly, even with long runs and several start cycles. I could leave it at idle for hours and it would be fine.
In the water idle is a bit rough and feels like it wants to die (sometimes it will).
2) On the trailer the tach is smooth and accurate at all power settings.
In the water the tach is all over the place right away.
It has new plugs, rebuilt carbs, and new stator.
