"this motor runs good at hi speeds starts ok but when trolling at low speeds will do good for about 10 min then dies unless you play with throttle.if you pump that ball it seems to stay ok. would you say bad ball or fuel filter or maby fuel pump, its been doing it since new and was back to the dealer about it they said it was becouse we were trolling with it that you cant troll with a 50hp"

"Sure you can troll with a 50 - it don't like it and I would recommend that you pick up a can of Merc Powertune and clean the carbon and cooties out a couple times a season (trolling can really cause carbon build-up).

Your problem sound more like the fuel pump is on the way out. But yes, could be a minor air leak in the line or even a bit of a blockage in the fuel filter.

A fuel filter is cheap as is a fuel pump kit..."
