Hey folks, I recently purchased a 2002 Johnson Enforcer 55hp. The outboard has been converted to having a prop on it rather than the factory jet drive system. The engine runs like a top however once i hit about quarter throttle it begins to hit the rev limiter. Does anyone know why this could be happening? I am thinking it could be two things it may be that the transom on this boat is tall and it once at speed does not have enough water running by the prop giving it not enough resistance and running the RPM high or when the lower unit was replaced they put a "hole shot prop" on it. Could it be that it was not sized properly?
