I was getting ready to change

I was getting ready to change the plugs in this motor and some buddies were telling me it is more involved because of the fuel injection. They were referring to something called indexing of plugs.

What is really involved?
 
If it is a 2002 Johnson then

If it is a 2002 Johnson then it has carbs and replacing the plugs is simple. If it is fuel injected Maybe 98 or 99 I recommend buying the plugs from a friendly dealer and asking for advice on installation. It is not that hard but pictures are helpful. And if you get it wrong the world will end... or the motor may idle poorly but nothing else will go wrong
